Tempura Beer Batter Good Friday Fish Fry Recipe
Ingredients:
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp. baking powder
- Salt & Pepper to taste (more on the pepper)
- Onion powder to taste
- Garlic powder to taste
- ¼ - ½ cup beer (very good with Otter Creek Copper Ale Middlebury Vermont)
Beer:
Use a good ale and avoid the generic mass marketed crap like Molsons, Labatts, and Budweiser.
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together to make a light batter. Dip fish or seafood into batter and fry in hot oil.
This makes a light golden fluffy batter similar to tempura.
Suitability:
This one is good for everything from Veggies, to shrimp, to mushrooms, to onions,
to halibut. The double frying of the potato pancakes wasn't such a good idea.
